Who We Are

Linda Mwananchi Diaspora USA Chapter (LMD USA) is a public-interest platform created to unite, organize, and strengthen diaspora communities across the United States. It provides a professional, inclusive, and accountable structure through which diaspora activities can be coordinated, community interests represented, and trusted relationships built.

LMD USA represents the beginning of a new era of diaspora self-organization and collective advancement. Its vision is rooted in the African principle that the wellbeing of the community depends on recognizing the dignity and voice of every person. Regardless of age, profession, economic position, or social status, every community member deserves to be heard and respected.

Our purpose is to restore trust in diaspora public life by ensuring that all legitimate community interests participate in the decisions that affect them. We begin at the city level, where relationships are formed, needs are experienced, and meaningful participation is most practical.

LMD USA advances this mission through four strategies:

  • Build the basic unit of community relationships.
  • Establish clear and accountable levels of leadership.
  • Develop community-based interest groups.
  • Ensure those groups are represented at every level of decision-making.

Together, these strategies create a pathway from local relationships to national representation—transforming fragmented communities into an organized, respected, and influential diaspora.
